Another very enjoyable show coming up at the Old Joint Stock Theatre this wednesday. As usual the intimate theatre will be set out in cabaret style seating and you can take your drinks in to the show.
The format of the show is two superb comics performing an hour each – often that means you get acts performing the particular hour long shows they are performing that year at the Edinburgh Fringe, the Melbourne International comedy festival and so on. On these occasions its very often a unique chance to see these shows in Birmingham.
But sometimes we take a different approach and just book two of the most talented and entertaining acts on the international circuit and offer them the chance to perform for a whole hour. This gives comics a chance to really shine and show what they can do.
On this occasion theres a strongly Canadian flavour to proceedings. First up, Tony Law whose cool North American drawl is a surprising conduit for some seriously surreal whinsy and mind bending flights of fancy. Law has the strong delivery and onstage presence of many of his Canuck contemporaries, but sometimes his material is so off the wall he almost seems schocked by what comes out of his mouth.

Headlining the show tho is Craig Campell a big, gruff, handsome could-be-lumberjack kind of a guy with a sharp but friendly wit and a bunch of takes from his travels around the world to share. A good raconteur and a friendly presence, this guy is excellent company for an hour of top quality stand up comedy.
