Last year I collaborated with Einstellung – a superb Birmingham based instrumental guitar band – on an acoustic set which was peformed at the Old Joint Stock Theatre (with me solo in support) where it was recorded. The collaboration – Das Land Ohne Musik – was further developed for the second Project X Presents later that year.
The recording may yet get a full release, but in the meantime you can listen to one of the tracks – Ich Auch on the Einstelling myspace. It works very well I think – since despite some considerable differences in our musical backgrounds – there was also some real shared ground. There’s also some fine violin work and the sum total is hopefully that little bit greater than the sum of its parts. Enjoy!
