Is there anything in your life that you’ve found to be intrinsically good, or truly, ultimately satisfying?
My analysis of my own experience suggests that actually no one thing is capable of providing lasting and genuine satisfaction, which is why I think that as a society its vital we allow people the freedom to choose their own destiny and as individuals, we each take responsibility for finding out what balance of which factors really works for us.
Have you had any experience of committing yourself fully to something or someone only to find that it didnt deliver the satisfaction you sought, or have you any experience to share of balancing the right factors in your life?
Hi Rich
I have spent the last 5 years ‘trying out’ different hobbies, interests and ‘heart callings’… of which when done in excess (singularity) have ended up becoming a chore/like a full-time job.
I have opted for a modular lifestyle – one where I may make my way doing everything I am about… which unfortunately isn’t easy when they span many spectrums…
I write, I draw/paint, I like astrology, I am into Complementary Health. I like beauty, I like photography, I make jewellery and also aromatherapy products… doing these in small quantities often keeps me excited about what I enjoy as well as feeding all aspects of myself, however in a modern world it also leaves me feeling fragmented because I think we need a centre-point, an anchor or even an umbrella that allows for connection amongst all things if we are not one of them.
Finally, I have found a business idea that allows me to do all of these with one theme in mind, which means all things I do are now with one purpose.
So I think it is about identifying who you are, what you like doing, and how all of these things can be connected via joined-up thinlking and then reigning them all into one committed channel – I think this is the only way I will achieve satisfaction – collectively not singularly.
Mushy Peace. xxx
